How to Use our RSS Feed Button

Using our RSS Feed Button at the Top Right Spot of the Home Page

What is this button for?

This XML is a rss feed button. RSS stands for "rich site summary" or "really simple syndication". The purpose of our rss feed button is to provide a service to all our web site visitors - one that will give them updates of newly published Catholic articles and new Catholic books and other items sold at discounted prices. This service is convenient because you do not need to always go back to our web site for anything new. With this rss feed service, you will always be updated of what's new through a feed aggregator or reader of your own preference.

Using this button: Step One

Before using this button, you need to have a feed aggregator or reader. A feed reader collects all the rss feeds you have subscribed to and presents all published items to you in 5-10 links each per rss feed. If you do not have a feed reader yet and you already have an email account with Yahoo!, then you can use your My Yahoo! page also as a feed aggregator. Or if you do not have a Yahoo! account, you can always search at Google for a free feed aggregator account.

After you have decided on a feed aggregator, then, for our first step, click on our XML feed.

Step Two: Getting the URL of the RSS Feed

When a web page loads in your browser, what you will see is the xml coding of the rss feed. You do not need all this xml coding. What you only need to do is to copy the link of the rss feed in the browser, i.e., http://www.pcentral-online.net/rss-feeds.xml After you have copied the link, you can now go to my.yahoo.com and place this new rss feed you will subscribe to in their feed aggregator.

Step Three: Using My Yahoo!

As you get to the My Yahoo! web page, sign in with your Yahoo! ID and password. After you sign in, there is on the upper left of the page a link that says, "+ Add Content". Click on the link. Then there will be a box with a link on the right side that says, "Add RSS by URL". Click that link. After this, all you need to do is to type the link of our rss feed: http://www.pcentral-online.net/rss-feeds.xml Then click the "Add" button, and that's it. You will now have all the items of the our rss feed delivered to your My Yahoo! web page.
