Engaging Catholicism in the Family Setting

Bringing gospel values to the family setting

We will not dwell too much on issues as regards the alternative lifestyles
being promoted by other peoples as these are contentious issues and tend to
divide the Catholic Church at its very base and foundation. Let us refer the
authority and responsibility for this to our hierarchy who truly are in a
position to judge what is right for the Catholic family. It will just suffice
for this writing to name these issues: abortion, same-sex marriage, euthanasia,
and divorce. It is important that as Catholic webauthors, we focus more on
the positive - that which will strengthen the traditional, conservative family
option as an option based on God's will and divine plan. What is important
and essential is what we stand for - and that is the official stand that the
Catholic Church takes.

The Catholic internet mission engagement in the family setting can be best
experienced in The Spirit's Love Leaders Corps list. In this list, Catholics
pray very much for one another - especially as regards the families of each
and every member. We also pray for other families and their members. Our
concern most especially is to lead families to profess faith in God alone,
to impart hope to the sick, the suffering, the troubled or those in conflict
situations within the family. But most especially, we pray that the traditional
family be kept intact and preserved from the various influences that intend to
destroy its foundation and rootedness in Christian tradition.

For those not familiar with the list, be not hesitant in joining just because
you see the word Leaders. By our baptismal consecration, the Lord has called
us to be leaders in our own right and in our own unique and special way. And
this we exercise in our families, in our workplaces and in our neighborhood.
So, join in and help preserve the traditional institution of the Catholic
family intact and uncontaminated by those who wish to present an alternative
type of family setting not in harmony with the Christian tradition.
