Engaging Catholicism in the Economic Setting

Bringing gospel values to the economic setting

Catholic Internet Mission engages the gospel values in the economic setting
through its link exchange program and reciprocal linking. The uniqueness of
its link exchange and reciprocal linking program is that it is not automated.
A link exchange request and reciprocal link request through Catholic Internet
Mission is through actual sending and receiving of messages that are personally
written by the website owner or webmaster who wishes to make the link exchange
request.

The purpose of this link exchange and reciprocal linking is to advertise also
wholesome and family-oriented businesses and also to help the Catholic webauthor
increase his visibility and prominence in the Internet by getting a high ranking
from linking with these business sites. Aside from this, Catholics who surf the
Links Page of this website may find a website or two that may interest him
where he can purchase goods and materials that could be used for himself or
for his family.

Link exchange with business sites is a very informative venture also. You get
to know what types of businesses can be accommodated by our Catholic-values-
orientation framework. It is often that we may receive a business website that
would want to link with us but whose business deals in gambling or cellphone
graphics dealing in pornography. It is a matter of prudence that we should not
naturally accept the link exchange with these type of businesses. They are
better referred to link with businesses of the same nature. It is up to the
Catholic webauthor's own judgement and discernment as to which business would
more or less be in line with what our Catholic faith is teaching. The Catholic
internet mission has linked with so many businesses already in the Internet.
At the time that we have linked with them, the webpages shown were okay. We
have no control anymore if ever they have changed their webpages or redesigned
them in a way that it does not reflect anymore Christian values and the Catholic
culture. I would just warn the Catholic surfer to be discriminate in his
viewing the business websites. If the service or produce or design that a
business website is showing is affecting your Catholic conscience, then by all
means do not go deeper into the webpages of that business website.
Click another. What is important is that Christ is still the central reason
why we are in the Internet, not business.

There is also another webpage of the Catholic internet mission which features
both spiritual and business links. It is The Catholic Starboard. Most of the links
in this website are with the group Link Together and with Link Exchange.
