About this Website - Catholic Internet Mission
Backgrounder on the WebNetwork and this web site
The Catholic Internet Mission web site
The mission of the Catholic Internet Mission web site is to help the Catholic
webmaster, and his family, or group of webauthors in their vocation and calling
"to make the face of Christ seen" and "to make the voice of Christ heard" in
the Internet. It has some document guidelines from the Catholic church,
various webmaster tools, and links to search engine optimization techniques
that will increase the visibility and importance of their Catholic web site.
The website shall assist anyone interested in starting their own site
with all Catholic internet information and resources. These are found in
many pages of the web site.
Service excellence from the Catholic context is the ideal the web site aims
for and wishes to teach those who also wish to start a web site of their own
so as:
- to support the universal Catholic mission by initiating a Catholic
presence on the Net through Catholic articles and blogs
- to obtain a second source of income for the family and household by
engaging in associate and affiliate programs
- to help build the internet industry by engaging in business and
link exchange activities
Catholic Internet Mission:
First Web Site of the WebNetwork
This internet mission has this web site as its first web site. It is a
vital part of the internet mission since it centralizes all the Catholic
related links and pages into a Catholic WebNetwork (a network of links,
web pages, web sites, web logs or blogs, lists and webrings). This
WebNetwork is referred to in many ways:
PC WebNetwork, PC Online, Pentecost Central, PCentral, PC-Online.Net, and
many other names that were informally used to identify it. This web site's
domain name will help identify more formally this WebNetwork:
www.pcentral-online.net
(PCentral Online).
PCentral Online and
Catholic Internet Mission: Vision, Mission, Goal(s)
The meaning and purpose of the PCentral Online Catholic WebNetwork and its
two web sites are taken from the context of the objectives and goals of the
36th World Communications Day Message given last May 12, 2002. This papal
message is the foundation for all the Catholic internet spirituality and
theology that PCentral Online and its two web sites base themselves upon.
To know better and be more familiarized with the internet mission of this
WebNetwork, these are the two main web sites:
Catholic Internet Mission and
Gospel and
Culture
Focus of the Two Websites
Both Catholic Internet Mission and Gospel and Culture highlight a pathway
of being Catholic, a way of proceeding in proclaiming the Gospel in the Net,
through: teaching Church documents on the Internet; mission posts in the
lists; resources needed in order to start a web site; business tips from a
Catholic social responsibility context; link exchanges with many websites;
providing various tools for the Catholic site owner to optimize his website
for greater visibility in the Internet; and making the Catholic web site
owner aware of the both the positive potentials and the dangers to avoid
when inculturating the Gospel values and the Christian message in the
language of the Internet.
Catholic Internet Mission is both non-profit and profit
All that has been produced in this website has been the fruit of work started
since 2002 with intensive hands-on study and interactivity with many contacts
of English-speaking people in the Internet, both Catholic and non-Catholic.
The internet mission was started on May 12, 2002, with its first foundational
list, The Spirit's Love Leaders Corps.
The original and prayerful vision for Catholic Internet Mission is written in
the description of that list.
Everything spiritual and inspirational in this website and the whole
WebNetwork of PCentral Online is free for use by anyone - except for a few
exchanged links that are directed to business entities. However, all the
spiritual material and all the inspirational content that were inspired from
various sources (which are referenced so that one may purchase the book) is
free for use by all in the Internet who wish to avail of Catholic Internet
search tools and links featured in this Catholic Internet Mission website.
The articles written by the webauthor are also free for anyone who wishes
