SUBJECT:
Discover your calling in the Internet!

Hello,

This is the New Millenium Pentecost Website. It was created to promote the
36th World Communications Day Message. You can use all the links of this
website and get to know about integrating the Catholic faith in the Internet.
As you study the links of this site you will know more a method of "making
the face of Christ seen" and "making the voice of Christ heard" through
various forms of witnessing in the Internet.

The motto is "duc in altum" / "put out into the deep" (Luke 5:4)

New Millenium Pentecost: Towards a Strong Catholicism in the Third Millenium

Pope John Paul II says, "The Internet causes billions of images to appear
on millions of computer monitors around the planet. From this galaxy of sight
and sound will the face of Christ emerge and the voice of Christ be heard? For it is
only when His face is seen and His voice heard that the world will know
the glad tidings of our redemption. This is the purpose of evangelization.
And this is what will make the Internet a genuinely human space, for if
there is no room for Christ, there is no room for man. Therefore, on this
World Communications Day, I dare summon the whole Church bravely to cross
this new threshold, to put out into the deep of the Net, so that now as in
the past the great engagement of the Gospel and culture may show to the
world "the glory of God on the face of Christ" (2 Cor 4:6).
May the Lord bless all those who work for this aim.
From the Vatican, 24 January 2002, the Feast of Saint Francis de Sales

The Pope continues to say that there is no doubt that the electronic
revolution holds out the promise of great positive breakthroughs for the
developing world; but there is also the possibility that it will in fact
aggravate existing inequalities. But the Church can be the prime mover,
through our work, to realize objectives and missions in favor of the
globalization of human development and solidarity.

In these troubled times, the Pope asks: how can we ensure that this
wondrous instrument first conceived in the context of military operations
can now serve the cause of peace?

The PCentral Online WebNetwork:
The PCentral Online WebNetwork is a webnetwork spanning these domains:

hsm.esmartweb.com,
www.gospel-and-culture.net,
pcbuilder7.tripod.com,
plus contents sponsored by www.blogger.com,
www.webring.com,
and groups.yahoo.com.
New Millenium Pentecost is part of this WebNetwork. The aim of the
WebNetwork is to bond Catholics in the Internet in order to make the
Catholic presence more visible and more prominent for the cause of
proclaiming the Gospel and propagating the mission to make Christ as a
standard of excellence in life in the Internet.
The following are important Catholic sites in the WebNetwork where the
Pentecost spirituality and theology can be studied and applied in our
Catholic life both within the Internet and in the setting of our family,
workplace, parish and community:

A Program of Excellence
Theopneustos.

The PCentral Online WebNetwork is continually updating and keeping
records of new articles, webpages, new members in the lists, new
member-websites in the webrings and the schedule of special
prayer-series in line with the liturgical calendar of the Church.
You can stay tuned through, What's New?

The Pope continues to state "Can [the Internet] favor that culture
of dialogue, participation, solidarity and reconciliation without
which peace cannot flourish? The Church believes it can; and to ensure
that this is what will happen she is determined to enter this new forum,
armed with the Gospel of Christ, the Prince of Peace."

Together with Catholics I have met on the Internet, we founded through
the help of the Holy Spirit The Spirit's Love Leaders Corps at Yahoo!
Groups on May 12, 2002, as a response to this call. Then, after a few
months, I started World Youth Spirit and Peter's Pence and
Coredemptrix Mediatrix Advocate
and Do you desire to be Catholic?
several months later from the original online community.

Since that blessed May 12, 2002 foundation, giving due honor to the Lord's
Most Holy Spirit, I extended the PCentral Online Catholic WebNetwork spirit
over the Web via the creation of sites, rings, and blogs. Though through
my missionary venture, I encountered much rejection and misunderstanding,
I nevertheless stuck to the core of my Catholic values despite my linkages
with other Christians, non-Christians, and secular institutions on the Internet.

As I integrated the use of the Internet within the context of classic
and traditional Catholic spirituality, I discovered that it is not only a
call, but a real challenge and a lifelong task indeed. Much of those who
frequent the many forums and lists use a language that includes contemporary
anecdotes and inspiring messages - all of which are akin to greeting card
messages, contemporary TV-like life-situations, or chain e-mail messages
which you are asked not to delete but to forward to as many contacts,
acquaintances and friends.

New Millenium Pentecost seeks not only to inculturate itself in this
language but to use it as a platform to a deeper sharing of the Christian
message from its Catholic roots and perspective.

How to use this PCentral Online WebNetwork:
Within the PCentral Online WebNetwork, you can use the text navigation menu
at the top of the webpage. Or if you want to view and surf all the webpages
of the webnetwork indexed by Google as regards the Pentecost spirituality
and theology terms, you can use the Google search box at the top center
of the webpage.

It aims to do this through: (1) actual Scripture quotations; (2) reflections
and meditations on the readings of the liturgy; (3) classic prayers and
writings from the rich heritage of the Church; (4) official news from the
Vatican from various Catholic news services; (5) actual responses to prayer
requests made by all peoples in the many forums of the Internet.

Making the face of Christ seen and making His voice heard in this medium
is not only through online groups, forums and lists. There are three other
means presently used by many to preach and teach the Christian message.
These are: website creation, blog writing, and webring creation. Websites
can be created to embody good Catholic truths and principles. Writers can
also write in web blogs and have their Christian reflections and meditations
to a wider audience. Also, those Catholics who already have a number of
websites credited to their name or organization can band all together and
create a webring where members and can navigate through all the websites
in their webring.

So we hope and pray that you may be inspired and attracted to join
our mission as a way of heeding the call of the Lord through the Church
in the 36th World Communications Day Message of John Paul II, to "put out
into the deep of the Net" to spread the gospel of Christ Jesus our Lord
in the spirit of the Pentecost community - "Duc in altum!" It is not only
a call but a gift. If you desire to receive also this gift, then you
shall joyfully share with us the task and responsibility to build and
strengthen the Catholic Church through the medium of the Internet as the
Holy Spirit desires and so wills.
